This error is caused by a network problem, usually where the network connection has become unstable.

To solve this error :

Nintendo servers may be overloaded or there may be a problem with your internet connection or the internet connection of the player you are attempting to connect to.

Please wait and try again at a later time.

If the problem still occurs :

• Ensure that your Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is compatible with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
• Ensure that your router settings are correct, such as channel.
• Check that your router firewall settings are correct. The firewall may be preventing you from connecting and playing certain games over the internet.
